Dispersion Philanthropy’s mission is to support philanthropic and social impact by providing learning opportunities and flexible services to support the sector.
Dispersion works with diverse stakeholders in four areas:

Leadership development and education.  The philanthropic sector is evolving fast, with more activity, and greater need for ways to improve the practice and impact of giving.  To support the talent of the sector, Dispersion will be launching programs to increase the breadth and diversity of those able to serve the growing number of families and institutions committed to positive social change.

Research and knowledge sharing. We need new and adaptive research on philanthropy and social impact, given the pace of its expansion and the rapid innovation and iteration of its practice.  We will pursue strategic, field-building research, to learn more about how philanthropy works and how its impact, equity and sustainability can be improved.

Flexible philanthropic services.  As leaders and entrepreneurs in the social sector, we know what is possible through effective strategy, organizational development and capacity building, along with the challenges of embracing new opportunities.  Dispersion will work with a variety of nonprofit, educational and foundation partners to help support their capacity and growth.  This may take the form of program development, staff engagement and training, and other complementary services.

Networking and storytelling. As Dispersion’s community of participants and supporters grows, we will create online and in-person ways for donors, advisors, nonprofits and other stakeholders in social impact to connect and share their ideas, lessons, and questions. We hope you will be a part of that community.
